The rich man and Lazarus. Luke 16:19-31

In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, we must be aware of a very important issue, which seems to be missing from the story. It was never mentioned that the needy man ever asked the rich guy for help of any kind. We are intended to understand that the it goes without saying, when you know about the need for help, you are expected to do whatever you can. I heard once, a preacher saying, you have to ask … and keep asking incessantly in order to get help. He said, it was written, ask and you shall find. yet, that good man forgot that the command “ask” was meant … to ask God. The subtle, but extremely important difference between the two situations is of utmost significance… something to think about.
